A self-made single-stage 4.5MV electrostatic accelerator was designed and constructed at Peking Univ, P.R.China. In order to measure the neutron energy with the flight-time method, it is necessary to compress the continuous ion beams into the pulsed beams, hence a beam pulsing system was incorporated in this machine. In this paper, the 9 MHz rf bunching system, the 1.5 MHz rf chopping system, and the relevant electronic circuits of the beam pulsing system, as well as the requirements on the transverse focusing system, and on the simulations of particle's longitudinal motion were introduced with stress.
