The cooperative caching is one of the key technologies for improvement of the performance of the cluster file system. The hint-based heuristic cache replacement algorithm under dual-granularity protocol for s2fs(scalable single-image file system) was designed. The cooperative caching, which meets the needs for rigorous UNIX-semantics, was implemented. The analytical model of evaluation for performance was built. The experimental results have shown that the heuristic algorithm can effectively reduce the I/O response time, it has superiority over N-chance algorithm.EI08800-8051
