This report describes the successful construction of a novel type of model polynucleotide with copoly (Vam-Val) containing a pair of the same amount of complementary adeninyl and thyminyl pendant groups which incorporates some of the appropriate functionality involving selective N-blocking of CbzONB, selective N-acylation of active ester-APA, and direct, low-temperature esterification. The four related segment models with highly optical purities were synthesized in a concise and feasible manner.EI
