In this paper we introduce the block-analyzing method to describe the evolution of cellular automata. A certain kind of one-dimensional cellular automaton is decomposed into a sequence of several particular kinds of blocks standing consecutively. We can then view the evolution of the whole automaton in terms of the evolution of these blocks.
