From requirements specification to software architecture-A case study

Software requirements engineering and software architecting are the two early and key activities in software life cycle. Automatic or semi-automatic transformation from requirements specification to software architecture is a concern of both the academia and the industry. Presently, there's still lack of effective and systematic methods, techniques, tools and processes to facilitate the transformation. This paper, on the basis of a real project-architecting for the Accreditation Subsystem of the Olympic Games, presents an experiential process facilitating the transformation from requirements specification to software architecture, and analyzes the key research issues emerged from the proposed transforming process.
