Development of integrated acoustically-tunable optical filter using the coupled-mode theory

The integrated acoustically-tunable optical filter (IAOTF) is rapidly gaining importance in the field of WDM networks because it has the combined features of narrow bandpass, rapid switching time and broad tuning range. The low loss surface acoustic wave (SAW) transducer and the weigthed acoustic waveguide is studied using coupled-mode theory.
