An analytical approach was proposed to evaluate the performance of AQM (Active queue management) mechanism with unresponsive flows. The evaluation method is based on a queueing system called GI/M/1/N with balking. Employing Weibull, Pareto and exponential distributions as input to the queueing system, we assess and compare the performance of four classical AQM algorithms: TD, RED, GRED and Adaptive RED. The analytical results are consistent with those generated by simulations or experiments reported from previous works.Engineering, Electrical & ElectronicSCI(E)EI3ARTICLE140-441
