This article is a contribution to the study of the automorphism groups of finite linear spaces. In particular, we look at simple groups and prove the following theorem: Let G be a simple group and let S be a finite linear space on which G acts as a line-transitive automorphism group. If G is isomorphic to (2)G(2)(q), then S is a Ree unitary space. (C) 2003 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.MathematicsSCI(E)0ARTICLE3311-3252
