In this paper, polystyrene-maleic anhydride (PSM) was used to fabricate CdS nanocrystals in dimethylsulfoxide (DMSO) aqueous solution. The concentration of Cd2+ ions loaded on polymer was determined by inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). Various techniques, including Fourier transform infrared (FTIR), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Vis spectrophotomery and fluorescence spectrophotometry, were used to describe the characteristics of CdS nanocrystals.
