The synthesis of monodispersed EuS nanocrystals with sizes ranging from 2.6 to 20 nm, by the thermal decomposition of single molecular precursors, was illustrated. Magnetic measurements on the EuS particle were performed using a Quantum Design SQUID magnetometer. The increase in the coercivity of a magnetic material has been considered to be the increase of the magnetic anisotropy since an applied field at a given temperature should be able to change the orientation of magnetization. The results show the presence of a blue shift of the maximum absorption peak position of the UV/Vis spectra while reducing the crystal size.http://gateway.webofknowledge.com/gateway/Gateway.cgi?GWVersion=2&SrcApp=PARTNER_APP&SrcAuth=LinksAMR&KeyUT=WOS:000234656...
