Both the calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) receptor and alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionic acid (AMPA) receptor are involved in the transmission of sensory information from primary afferent to the spinal cord. The present study found that there was a colocalization of CGRP receptor and AMPA receptor in a single spinal dorsal horn neuron in rat determined by double immunofluorescence labeling image methods.
