Anisotropic Pr13Fe80B7 magnetic powders are obtained by shortening the disproportionation time ofthe hydrogenation disproportionation desorption recombination (HDDR) process. The magnetic powders with a disproportionation time of 30 min have the magnetic properties of B-r=0.93 T and M-r/M-s=0.75, and show a high degree of crystal texture along the c axis, whereas the magnetic powders obtained with a prolonged disproportionation time are isotropic. A rodlike structure is observed in the 30 min-disproportionation products and is transformed into spherical morphology with a prolonged disproportionation time. It suggests that the rodlike disproportionated microstructure is very important for the formation of crystal texture in the conventional ...
