Aim: To understand and describe how the growth and development of slums in Guwahati, Assam influence the\ud living conditions affect the health status of slum dwellers. Methods: A comprehensive literature review of 44 articles\ud published during 1993 to 2016 in various databases computerized databases, hand searches, and authoritative texts was undertaken to reveal the inter-disciplinary character of the topic. The inclusion criteria for this study were to\ud select items having scientific quality and were aligned with the objective of the study.
