Forests cover 30% of the land surface and contain more than half of the carbon stored in terrestrial ecosystems. Carbon credits can be used to compensate the environmental service provided by forests. The sale of carbon credits could be a lever to steer investment. Demand for credits in the forestry sector remains relatively small.
