Le but de cet article est d'établir si les politiques d'assurance-chômage sont plus généreuses en Europe qu'aux États-Unis, et de combien. Nous prenons les exemples de la France et d’un état particulier des Etats-Unis, l’Ohio, et utilisons la méthode de PALLAGE, SCRUGGS et ZIMMERMANN (2008) afin de déterminer un unique paramètre structurel caractérisant pour chaque région la générosité du système d’assurance-chômage.
