The merger between the Institut national agronomique de Paris-Grignon, the École nationale supérieure des industries agricoles et alimentaires and the École nationale du génie rural, des eaux et des forêts on January 1, 2007 produced AgroParisTech. The article describes the consequences, both recorded and predicted, of this merger on advanced forestry education in France. It begins by showing that AgroParisTech has acquired international stature and is integrated in the European higher education space (the Bologna process). A distinguishing feature is that it does not offer education at the “Bachelor’s” level. It goes on to analyse the major consequences that the merger is likely to produce at all three of the levels currently offered...
