It Fryske Gea is the provincial association for nature conservation in Fryslân (Frisian for Friesland). Its goal is to protect, maintain and develop nature, landscape and cultural heritage in Fryslân. The association currently manages over 50 nature reserves with a total size of 20,000 ha.
