Apport de la piezocision en orthodontie

Orthodontics in adults sometimes face difficulties related to an unfavorable periodontal context, and important time constraints. Corticotomy is a surgical procedure consisting of performing osteotomy strokes on the bone cutter or bone saws. It promotes the speed of orthodontic movements. We will go through the surgical phenomena, explaining the speed of the treatments, and what are the interests in the context of orthodontic treatment. However, this technique presents some difficulties and surgical complications that we will discuss. Piezocision is a minimally invasive surgical procedure consisting of performing micro-incisions with a piezotome. We will present the advantages of piezotomy compared to those of classical corticotomy. We will then go through the general principles of the piezotome and the operative technique. Finally, we will summarize the orthodontic piezocision protocol to facilitate and encourage practitioners to practice this technique in their office.L’orthodontie chez l’adulte se heurte parfois à des difficultés liées à un contexte parodontal peu favorable, des contraintes de temps plus importantes. La corticotomie est un moyen chirurgical consistant en la réalisation de traits d’ostéotomies à la fraise à os ou à la scie à os. Elle favorise la rapidité des mouvements orthodontiques. Nous verrons quels sont les phénomènes chirurgicaux expliquant cette rapidité de traitements et quels en sont les intérêts dans le cadre d’un traitement orthodontique. Cette technique présente néanmoins certaines difficultés et complications chirurgicales que nous aborderons. La piézocision est un moyen chirurgical mini-invasif consistant en la réalisation de micro-incisions avec un piézotome. Nous présenterons les avantages de la piézotomie comparés à ceux de la corticotomie classique, les principes généraux du piézotome puis la technique opératoire. Enfin nous récapitulerons le protocole de la piézocision à visée orthodontique afin de faciliter et d’encourager les praticiens à pratiquer cette technique au sein de leurs cabinets
