The Cannabis sativa plant has had a long history of controversy. One of the varieties of this plant, hemp, is of particular interest because it has the potential for contributing to a new renewable energy source. This study evaluates the history of this plant, its infinite number of uses, the legal issues that ceased its production, and the potential it has to be resurrected.
