In the present study, we explored the effect that the organization, a coworker that one liked, as well as a coworker that one liked but was also in competition with had on organizational citizenship behavior (OCB). Participants in this study completed four questionnaires. Three of the questionnaires measured the participants’ OCB in three different situations where the fourth questionnaire measured the participants’ extraversion and conscientiousness. There were 52 people who participated in the study: 18 males and 34 females. Participants reported that they would be more likely to engage in OCB for coworkers that they liked, followed by the organization.
