This experiment compares different weed control methods for dark-fired tobacco by herbicide use for the years 2006-2007. Similar experiments were conducted in both years. There were nine treatments that were replicated four times. Each plot was four rows wide and forty feet in length. Every treatment was applied at rates according to their label in 15 gallons of water per acre. The nine herbicide treatments were applied just prior to setting the tobacco transplants. Treatment No.1 was a 0.375 lb. per acre of sulfentrazone (Spartan 4F) application. Treatment No. 2 was a 1.0 lb. per acre of clomazone (Command 3ME) application. Treatment No. 3 was a combined application of 0.375 lb. per acre of sulfentrazone and 1.0 lb. per acre of clomazone. ...
