Hydrocarbons explosion parameters are mostly known at atmospheric pressure and temperature, far from the operating conditions of numerous industrial processes at which phenomenon like cool flames might have a big influence on explosivity. That is why the goal of this study is to use kinetic mechanisms to predict safety parameters at relevant conditions. The chapter I of this report gives generalities about hydrocarbons oxidation processes safety, gas explosions and the influence of cool flames on explosion limits.
