This thesis, separated into two main axes, deals with the study of micrometric gratings, ruled on a polar material that supports surface phonon-polaritons, thus producing coherent thermal sources. In the first axe, we exploit the experimental data of the dielectric functions at different temperatures to study the evolution of the thermal emissionof SiC and SiO2 gratings as a function of temperature. When materials are heated, the position of the grating emissivity peak shifts towards higher wavelength values and its amplitude decreases. Thus room temperature designed gratings are not optimal for higher temperatures.
