Problematology can be defined as a new means of conceiving Reason, by enlarging it at the base, where the responding process originates, i.e. in the act of questioning. The author shows how such an approach can lead to an understanding of the forms of reasoning and discourse associated with argumentation and rhetoric and how problematology can constitute the junction between pathos, ethos and logos. It then becomes possible to grasp the connections between literary rhetoric, figures of style and judicial argumentation for example.
