Changing education to train tomorrow's foresters

Higher education in forestry is changing in France, Europe and North America. Current and future changes are occurring on the global scale. Curricula need to better establish linkages between technical, biological and social and economic aspects of forestry. To maintain competitiveness of higher education forestry establishments on the knowledge market, institutional reforms are needed.L’enseignement supérieur forestier se transforme, tant en France qu’en Europe et en Amérique du Nord. Les changements observés et à venir ont lieu dans un contexte mondialisé. Ils demandent une meilleure articulation des aspects techniques, biologiques et socio-économiques des cursus. Des réformes institutionnelles seront nécessaires pour que les établissements d’enseignement supérieur forestier restent compétitifs sur le marché du savoir
