As new ways of making knowledge available appear (interactive terminals, multimedia, virtual environments, etc.), the issue of the relationship between signs and objects is raised with a new acuity. This paper tries to show that these new forms of communication constitute primarily indiciary techno-semiotic devices. Their purpose is to create a relation between the objective nature of the elements they are composed of with the semiotic value they are associated with. Based in particular on C.S.
