Cultural and judicial pluralism in French Polynesia: the land tenure

After two centuries of cultural transformations in French Polynesia, the official land law is unable to meet up to expectations. It did not succeed in incorporating traditional norms and currently, the official land law generates a situation of judicial and cultural pluralism which makes it all the more important that autochthonous norms are divergent. A land reform should take into account such a situation of pluralism.Après deux siècles de transformations culturelles en Polynésie française, le droit foncier officiel ne parvient pas à s'imposer. Il n'a pas réussi à incorporer les normes traditionnelles. Bien au contraire, il donne lieu à un pluralisme juridique et culturel d'autant plus important que les normes autochtones divergent profondément. Une réforme foncière devrait être capable de tenir compte de ce pluralisme
