O trabalho em pauta pretende analisar a obra do teórico francês Guy Debord a partir de uma abordagem geográfica. A participação desse intelectual entre os anos 1950 e 1960 junto a grupos neovanguardistas e como um dos principais artífices intelectuais dos eventos conhecidos como o Maio de 1968, em Paris, é bem conhecida. Soma-se a isso a publicação, em 1967, de A sociedade do espetáculo. Considerado um tour de force contra a tirania das mídias e seu poder de alienar o homem comum, o livro de Debord transforma-se em um dos textos-base e influência para movimentos contestadores mundo afora.
