Konstruksi Sosial Masyarakat terhadap Alam Gunung Merapi: Studi Kualitatif Tentang Kearifan Lokal yang Berkembang di Desa Tlogolele Kecamatan Selo Kabupaten Boyolali

This is a study of people who live on the slopes of Merapi, the most activevolcano in Indonesia and they face the volcanic threats. This study is mainlybased on field data, collected by ethnography method, in Tlogolele SeloBoyolali, Central Java. Ethnography is a qualitative research approach whichexplores the worldview of people and demonstrates their dailylife, how to see,listen, speak, and think. Based on Social Contruction of Reality Theory fromBerger and Luckmann, this study tries to explore the social construction ofpeople who live on the slopes of Merapi. Villagers living on Merapiconstructed a system of religious belief. The villagers view Merapi as a friendnot a threats. They construct knowledge and tradition as a local wisdom. As alocal wisdom, the system of religious belief, kwoledge, and tradition have aspecial place in daily life of Tlogolele people. Local wisdom is based onJavanese culture concept ”memayu hayuning bawana”, which is applicated inseveral tradition slametan
