Pengetahuan Dan Penerimaan Masyarakat Terhadap Metode Teknik Serangga Mandul (Tsm) Dalam Pengendalian Vektor Demam Berdarah Dengue Aedes Aegypti Kota Salatiga

Dengue Haemorrhagic Fever in Indonesia increased every year and wider dissemination. One of effort that has been done is control Aedes aegypti's dengue vector. Efforts to prevent dengue vector control can be done with physical, biological, chemical or genetic. Sterile Insect Technique (SIT) is one of genetic vector control technique using sterilized. Aplication of SIT not much use in Indonesia. The aim of the research is to find out the knowledge and communities acceptance Salatiga for the SIT method after SIT socialization. The results showed that 58.5% of respondents had never heard about SIT; 54.9% did not know about SIT excess, 31.7% answered that the SIT excess can be cause mosquitoes not breed, more accurately targeted (4.9%), more efficient (4.9%) and practically (3.7% );30.5% informed from women cadre organization of PKK / RT; 82.9% of respondents agreed to done SIT applications in their environment and 80.5% of respondents agreed that SIT application continues to control dengue vector, 79.3% were receptive to active in the SIT application .Communities Acceptance is just for knowledge and attitudes, not for open behavior yet, due to the limited supply of sterile male mosquitoes to be released
