Hubungan Antara Dukungan Sosial Dan Hardiness Dengan Stress Pengasuhan Pada Ibu Yang Memiliki Anak Autis

The objective of this research is to know the correlation between social support and hardiness with parenting stress in mothers who have children with autism. There are 2 hypotheses proposed, the major hypothesis is that there is a correlation between social support and hardiness with parenting stress. The minor hypothesis is that there is a negative correlation between social support with parenting stress and a negative correlation between hardiness with parenting stress.There are 40 mothers who have children with autism as this research’s subjects in Pusat Layanan Autis Surakarta. The measuring instrument used in this research is: scale of social support, scale of hardiness, and scale of parenting stress. Data analysis technique used in this research is regression analysis. The result of hypothesis test is major hypothesis which there is a correlation between social support and hardiness with parenting stress, indicated by the value of R = 0,639. The conclusion of the minor hypothesis is that there is a significant negative correlation between social support and parenting stress. The higher social support means the less parenting stress, indicated by the value of r = -0,459. There is a significant negative correlation between hardiness and parenting stress. The higher hardiness means the less parenting stress, indicated by the value of r = -0,623. The level of subject’s social support is high, indicated by the empirical average of social support by 85,05 and the hypothetical average by 66. The level of subject’s hardiness is high, indicated by the empirical average of hardiness by 98,45 and hypothetical average by 72. The level of subject’s parenting stress is low, indicated by the empirical average of parenting stress by 53,93 and hypothetical average by 81. The effective contribution of social support is 21,06%, hardiness is 38,8%. The effective contribution of social support and hardiness is 40,8%. This shows that there are 59,2% of other factors which affecting the parenting stress. Keywords: Autism, social support, hardiness, parenting stres
