The video shows the findings of an INTERVEG project on the cultivation of vegetables in association with a living mulch (the living mulch is a cover crop intercropped with a cash crop). Pest control, weed and nutrient management have been compared for sole crops and for cash crops grown into a living mulch. Living mulch is a practice that has shown positive impact on all the factors under study. Some cash crops/living mulch combination work better than others, but in all cases farmers report that very useful insights have been obtained. As an advanced technique, it addresses more to experienced organic farmers, but when applied to small scale can be used also by newcomers
