At the IMO, the Second Generation Intact Stability criteria are currently under finalization and validation. This paper describes briefly the five different stability failure mode and the multi-layered structure which defines each vulnerability level. Furthermore, all first levels of vulnerability are applied to mega yacht unit, as such as the second levels are carried out for Parametric roll and Pure loss of stability. In order to understand how a design modification in terms of breadth may influence the susceptibility to this phenomena, a set of different models beside the original one are also investigated.
