Les indications du drainage endoscopique pour traiter les douleurs liées à la pancréatite chronique sont strictement limitées aux types morphologiques sévères de la maladie, lorsqu'un obstacle est mis en évidence au niveau du canal pancréatique principal. Cette méthode à récemment connu un engouement certain en raison de son caractère peu invasif et des résultats obtenus. Elle permet souvent de retarder ou d'éviter le recours à la chirurgie.
