The purpose of this study is to determine price elasticity of demand (PED) for residential water. Price elasticity of demand measures the responsiveness of household water demand to increases in the price of water, which is desalinated at great expense, but subsidized to consumers by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government. The price of water is the main tool in water demand management, and consequently, manages the sustainable supply of the water resource.
