Indian Institute Of ScienceProteins associated with metabolic pathways have received considerable attention in an effort to understand the molecular details of the complex reactions catalyzed in vivo. Enzymes belonging to these pathways have also been explored as potential targets for therapeutic intervention. The L-Lysine biosynthesis pathway in particular remains an attractive target for the design of new anti-microbial compounds.
