National audienceIn this study, the visibility algorithm, which is a fast and simple method that converts a temporal series into a graph, was used to characterize the complex behavior of cardiac variability for the evaluation of the maturation of premature babies. In terms of methods, it is shown that some of the parameters extracted from the visibility graph provide new information and others are highly correlated with existing nonlinear parameters of the literature (entropy sample, approximate entropy, fluctuation analysis values).
