Le pronom-déterminant lequel en français préclassique et classique (1580-1720). De la langue au discours.

Based on a corpus of texts from pre-classical and classical French (1580-1720), this research work analyzes the different morpho-syntactic, semantico-referential, enunciative and discursive parameters involving the jobs of the relative pronoun which in different kinds of texts (novels, texts of ideas, correspondence and dramatic poetry) and, in particular, the reasons for its resistance over time. The composite pronoun actually saw its use decrease sharply between its creation by the clerics of Romania and modern French, which was accompanied by a significant evolution of the metalinguistic discourse surrounding it, specializing in certain syntactic and semantic configurations (relativisation of non-human prepositional groups, removal of equivocation) and certain kinds of precise text (texts of laws or scientific essays); however, the pronoun remains used in contemporary prose, especially in the context of additions after the point. This thesis seeks to relate the compositional nature of the relative pronoun (constructed with the determinant defined and the qualitative marker which) which makes it specific in the words qu- of modern French, with its syntactic and referential functioning and its role in the organization and structuring of the statement, especially by comparing its use with that of simple relative pronouns. His relations with the Latin "relative liaison" will also be examined, through texts that have been translated from French to Latin and vice versa, as well as his relations with the history of genres of the classical period. The study of the compound pronoun also makes it possible to analyze the notion of period as an enunciative unit, as it was considered in the classical epoch, in cases where it behaves like a structuring or opening marker. of the period.À partir d'un corpus de textes issus du français préclassique et classique (1580-1720), ce travail de recherche analyse les différents paramètres morpho-syntaxiques, sémantico-référentiels, énonciatifs et discursifs engageant les emplois du pronom relatif lequel dans différents genres de textes (romans, textes d'idées, correspondance et poésie dramatique) et, notamment, les raisons de sa résistance au cours du temps. Le pronom composé a vu effectivement son usage décroître fortement entre sa création par les clercs de la Romania et le français moderne, ce qui s'est accompagné d'une évolution sensible du discours métalinguistique l'entourant, le spécialisant dans certaines configurations syntaxiques et sémantiques (relativisation de groupes prépositionnels non-humains, levée des équivoques) et certains genres de texte précis (textes de lois ou essais scientifiques) ; pour autant le pronom reste employé dans la prose contemporaine, notamment dans le cadre des ajouts après le point.
