Diggings in the Albian (Early Cretaceous) of the Saint-Dizier region (north-east France) has yielded a large elasmobranch fauna, which includes Squatirhina thiesi nov. sp.. The Saint-Dizier fauna provides the first records for the Paris Basin o f the following taxa : Lissodus levis (WOODWARD, 1887); Squatina decipiens DALINKEVICIUS, 1935; Heterodontus upnikensis (DALINKEVICIUS, 1935); Carcharias striatula (DALINKEVICIUS, 1935);Anomotodon principialis CAPPETTA, 1975; Scapanorhynchus praeraphiodon SOKOLOV, 1978; ?Cretodus sp.;Squalicorax primaevus (DALINKEVICIUS, 1935); ?Microcorax sp. and Synechodus tenuis WOODWARD, 1889
