Bus Bar Embedded Rogowski Coil

International audienceThis paper presents a design procedure of a busbar embedded Rogowski coil in a laminated bus bar from theviewpoint of geometry. The current sensor can detect a currentwaveform inside the laminated bus bar. The characteristics of thecurrent sensor depend on the both the coil and the laminatedbus bar geometry; therefore, the impact of the coil geometryshould be discussed. This is achieved using a electromagnetic fieldsimulation. The frequency bandwidth of the sensor is limited bythe stray components induced by the geometry. Further, the postprocessing method is needed to improve the frequency bandwidthof the current sensor. The performance of the current sensoris validated experimentally in a buck converter circuit throughcomparison with a conventional measurement method
