Electromagnetic scattering from bodies with the surface impedance matched with the wave impedance of the surrounding medium shows a number of unusual properties. This paper gives an overview of the related results achieved in the last several years. It is shown that the impedance matching ensures the lowest level of reflection and total scattering and the highest level of absorption upon averaging over all possible polarization states and incidence directions of the incident plane waves
