MAKNA PENDIDIKAN TINGGI BAGI KELUARGA PETANI KELAPA SAWIT DALAM PERSPEKTIF PETER L BERGER (Studi Kasus pada Keluarga Petani Kelapa Sawit di Desa Sri Kuncoro, Kecamatan Pondok Kelapa, Kabupaten Bengkulu Tengah)

The purpose of this research was to determine what the meaning of higher education for the palm oil farmers Families in the perspective of Peter L. Berger in rural Sri Kuncoro, Pondok Kelapa District, Bengkulu Tengah Regency. This research used the theory of social construction Peter L. Berger and used descriptive qualitative technique. This research was conducted in the village of Sri Kuncoro, Pondok Kelapa District, Bengkulu Tengah Regency. The data was collecting through deep interview, observation, and documentation.And then in the data analysis, which stems from data reduction, data display and conclusion. This study concludes that the significance of higher education for the palm oil farmersfamily in rural Sri Kuncoro. Higher education has an important meaning for parents and children familypalm oil farmers, that include 1) Improving the social status of parents in the midst of society, 2) Expecting a child's future for the better, 3) Facilitate the children looking for jobs other than farming, 4) improve science and the quality of Human Resources (HR) for children, 5) Increase the child's confidence in the mix, 6) Changing views of children towards their future later. Higher education for children has an important meaning for their parents and children, both in terms of improving the social status, mindset, and economics. Meanwhile for children, they assume their existence is recognized in the community and are considered better know as well as experienced, compared to children who are only able to complete primary school.
