This PhD thesis models a renewable-based hybrid power supply system applied in an islanded context and investigates sizing and regulation strategies of such a hybrid system. First, various marine energy production technologies were reviewed and compared to common renewable resources. As well, various energy storage technologies were reviewed, compared, and evaluated to fit the chosen site characteristics. A brief investigation on offshore energy transmission and inverter regulations methods is presented. Then, a study of the site characteristics, and the availability of the different renew- able energy resources in the area are presented.
