This thesis deals with state estimation, fault diagnosis and fault tolerant control of nonlinear systems represented by a Takagi-Sugeno model with unmeasurable premise variables. The problem of state estimation of nonlinear systems with T-S model with unmeasurable premise variable is explored. Algorithms for robust observers synthesis with respect to perturbations, modeling uncertainties and unknown inputs are afterward presented. These algorithms are based on four kinds of observers called proportional, unknown input observers (UIOs), proportional-integral (PI) and multiple-integral (PMI) .
