Masteroppgave - Norges idrettshøgskole, 2014This research study aimed to explore the gender-based barriers experienced by girls and women in sport in Zambia. 12 female athletes, coaches, leaders and organizers at different performance levels, aged between 19 and 35 were interviewed. The results in chapter 5 and 6 therefore reflect their experiences in sport. Findings showed that girls and women reveal several gender-based barriers in sport, discussed and presented as socio-cultural, socio-economical and safety barriers.Seksjon for kultur og samfunn / Department of Cultural and Social Studie
