Keeping Secrets deals with the consequences of an elusive yet everyday phenomenon. It addresses both the quantity and quality of secret-keeping. With respect to quantity, it presents research on the intra- and interpersonal consequences of keeping secrets from parents in adolescence. With respect to quality, it presents research that investigates and compares two types of secrets: Secrets that are kept all to oneself and secrets that are shared with at least one confidant.
