Through the years, Franklin served as the postmaster of Philadelphia, the Joint Deputy Postmaster for the colonies, and finally as the Postmaster General of the United states. in 1847, Franklin\u27s portrait was used in the first general issue postage stamp used in the United states. This exhibit features reproductions of some early Franklin stamps, as well as postcards with images of Franklin.
