The article outlines the teaching of the Church fathers on marriage and family. Although ancient priests valued life in virginity more, they also saw the fulfillment of God's will in the relationship of a man and a woman. The primary purpose of marriage was the procreation and education of offspring. The Church fathers pointed out that an important part of education was to protect children from the bad influence of the environment and to give them a good examples of parents and educators.
