The author presents the Polish, understood here as Piast, cult of St. Peter against the backdrop of the cult of this saint in medieval Europe. She underscores that the importance of the most zealous of the Apostles was immensely reinforced by the fact that he was venerated in the capital of Christianity, a city headed by the Pope, the earthly successor of the saint.
