The removal of these species is necessary to produce drinking water according to the regulation levels (200 μg L-1 for iron, 50 μg L-1 manganese and 10 μg L-1 for arsenic). It appears that Fe(VI) might be an appropriate chem. agent for the removal of these 3 species. Pilot expts. were conducted to test removal of iron, manganese and arsenic from a groundwater by a new potassium ferrate salt.
